In today’s newscast Mike and Bao report on Merced city schools upgrading their security and classrooms. Some of the upgrades include higher windows that are tinted, doors that automatically lock on the outside, new fencing, cameras on campuses, magnetic whiteboards, and new cafeterias across many different schools. The modernization of Merced City School campuses are made possible from a $60 million bond.
Minneapolis City Council wants some of the power over the police. The proposal to share this power with the mayor has passed this Friday morning. This change is the first time in over 100 years that the power structure will be split between the mayor and the 13 members of the Council.
The Trump administration is running out of time to reunify more than 2,000 children with their families. It looks like they will not make the July 26 deadline set by a federal judge.
